Once your fingerprint appointment is finished, the waiting period for the card begins. In Málaga province, it is important to check the office linked to your application, because Antequera, Benalmádena, Estepona, Fuengirola, Málaga, Marbella, Ronda, Torremolinos and Vélez-Málaga may update their lots at different times.
The number you need is usually shown on the receipt you received after giving your fingerprints. There are several different numbers on the document, so it is easy to confuse them. For example, if you see 2026/015, N: 150, the lot you need to check is 015. The number after N: is a different reference.
It is also not useful to compare your case with another town. Marbella may move forward while Fuengirola or Torremolinos remain unchanged, and next time it may be the opposite. Each office receives and manages its cards separately, so the important thing is to follow only the office linked to your application.
On Form24, you can select the correct office and check your own lot without comparing information across the whole province. If you do not want to check the same number every day, you can activate AutoTrack and receive a notification when your lot number is ready.
Find the office linked to your application before checking the lot. A lot from another police station does not tell you whether your own card is ready.
If your appointment is at CNP MÁLAGA Provincial, Plaza de Manuel Azaña 3, also check which area is indicated for your procedure. TIE and fingerprint appointments use Zone 1, while other procedures use Zone 2. It is worth checking this in advance so you do not waste time looking for the correct area.
NIE is your foreigner identification number, while the TIE is the physical card. If you have already given your fingerprints and are waiting for the card, you can check its status on the TIE Status page. If your lot is not ready yet, the TIE calculator can give you an estimated waiting period based on recent updates from that office. It is only an estimate, not an official collection date.
Check your receipt and the instructions for your office before travelling. TIE collection does not work exactly the same way at every police station. If an appointment is required, look for POLICIA - RECOGIDA DE TARJETA DE IDENTIDAD DE EXTRANJERO (TIE) on the official appointment website. It is better to check first than to make the journey unnecessarily.
