Once your fingerprints have been taken, the waiting period for your card begins. In Valencia, it is important to check the office linked to your application. Alzira, Ontinyent, Sagunto, Gandia and the offices in Valencia city manage their lots separately. If one police station receives new cards, this does not mean that the lot has changed in the others.
Start with the receipt you received after your fingerprint appointment. It contains several numbers, and they can easily be confused. For example, if you see 2026/015, N: 150, the number you need to check is 015. The number shown after N: is a different reference and is not your TIE lot.
Valencia also has an important local detail. If you gave your fingerprints at Patraix, Gremis 6, the finished TIE card is collected at Marítimo, Ernesto Anastasio 60. Do not automatically return to the same office where your fingerprints were taken. Check the collection location before you travel.
Lots do not move according to a fixed schedule. An office may update several lot numbers within a few days and then remain unchanged for some time. Form24 lets you select the correct office and follow only the lot that matters to you. Find the office connected to your application before checking the lot. In Valencia, it is especially important to distinguish between the place where your fingerprints were taken and the office where the finished card is collected.
If your fingerprints were taken at CNP COMISARIA PATRAIX EXTRANJERIA, Gremis 6, remember that the finished TIE card is collected at CNP COMISARÍA DE MARÍTIMO EXTRANJERÍA, Ernesto Anastasio 60. In this case, the fingerprint office and the collection office are different. It is better to check this before travelling than to go to the wrong police station.
NIE is your foreigner identification number, while the TIE is the physical card. To check whether your card may already be ready, use TIE Status. If your lot has not been reached yet, the TIE calculator can give you an estimated waiting period based on recent updates from that office. It is only an estimate, not an official collection date.
Check the instructions on your receipt and the rules of the relevant office. Some police stations require an appointment for collection, while others may work differently. If an appointment is required, look for POLICIA - RECOGIDA DE TARJETA DE IDENTIDAD DE EXTRANJERO (TIE) on the official appointment website. Check before travelling so you do not make the journey unnecessarily.
